Coaches Needed:

Volunteer coaches are key to the success of the program. We need volunteers! Without adequate volunteers, rosters will be limited and children will be turned away. If you are interested in coaching, please register as a head coach or assistant coach.  A preseason coaching clinic is offered to all volunteer coaches as well as practice plans to help coaches create a fun environment where kids can improve their skills.

2nd Grade Program Specifics:

2nd Grade Baseball is an instructional league for kids in 2nd grade for the 2023/2024 school year, building upon the basics of 1st grade coach pitch baseball. 

The first half of the 2nd grade baseball season continues with coach pitch, transitioning to kid pitch for the second half of the season.

2x per week:  Practices and games are held twice per week.  Generally Tuesday's and Thursday's, but may vary from week to week to provide a variety of competition and field availability. 

Registration Information

• Registration will open February 1st through April 1st.
• Once registered you will not be able to make any changes.  
• Players registering after April 1st will be “wait listed” with no guarantee of making a team.  A $25.00 late fee will be charged. 

Players may NOT advance past the 2nd grade level without being in their correct grade level.  

Program Dates

• Program dates will run April 29th thru July 11th.  
• House Parent Meeting: Virtual 
• Team notification will be April 24th via e-mail
• Coaches Meeting: Saturday, April 27th. Level Coordinator will email out time and location. 
• Picture Day will be held on Monday, April 29th at McGuire Middle School.  Team photographs will be scheduled throughout the night.  Make-up TBD.

Cherryview Elementary 1-2, Oak Hills Elementary School, Crystal Lake Education Center, Christina Huddleston Elementary, Highview Hills Park and Foxborough Park.

Cost for 2nd Grade Baseball is $130

Required Equipment:

LBA provides each player with a hat and jersey. 

Each player must provide their own

• Glove
• Batting Helmet
• Bat
• Baseball Pants (optional)
• Protective cup (optional)
• Cleats

LEVEL COORDINATOR responsibilities:

• Help Develop teams

• Create game schedule

• Deliver equipment to fields

• Distribute uniforms to teams

• Communicate with coaches
